Equipment, gems & the Ether Forge
The endgame depth layer: sacrifice creatures for Essence, forge frames and gems, socket and enchant them, then equip them to push your team further. It is all free to earn - and PvE-only, so it never touches duels or the arena.
The gear loop
- 1 Sacrifice Sacrifice a creature at the Etheria altar to release its element Essence (NFTs reset to base level instead of being destroyed).
- 2 Forge At the Ether Forge, spend Essence + Ether Shards to forge a frame or an element gem.
- 3 Socket Socket gems into a frame's sockets (a frame has 1-3 sockets from its item level).
- 4 Enchant Optionally enchant the piece +1 to +10 to multiply its stats - with destroy risk past +3.
- 5 Equip Equip the finished piece on a creature. Gear boosts PvE battles only.
Frames (the 4 slots)
Universal accessory slots - any frame fits any creature. Each has a small base stat plus 1-3 sockets for gems. Forged from an element's Essence + Ether Shards.
| Frame | Base stat | Forge cost |
|---|---|---|
| Armor | +5% Max HP | 10 Essence + 25 Ether Shards |
| Necklace | +3% Crit | 14 Essence + 35 Ether Shards |
| Bracelet | +3 Hit | 10 Essence + 25 Ether Shards |
| Earring | +5% Dodge | 14 Essence + 35 Ether Shards |
| Item level | Sockets | Drop rarity |
|---|---|---|
| +0 | 1 | common |
| +1 | 1 | common |
| +2 | 2 | uncommon |
| +3 | 2 | rare |
| +4 | 3 | very rare |
Element gems
Eight element gems, each giving one fixed stat. Socket them into a frame's sockets. Forge them (Essence + 20 Ether Shards) or get them as drops from element-matching wilds.
+5% Speed
+6% Max HP
+5% Crit
+5% ATK
+5 Hit
+5% DEF
+6% Dodge
+4% ATK & +4% Crit
Enchanting (upgrades +1 to +10)
Each attempt multiplies a piece's stats but can fail. Through +3 a failure is safe (you only lose materials). From +4 up, a failure can downgrade -1 or even DESTROY the frame and its gems - a Ward Charm turns a destroy into a harmless -1.

Essence & sacrifice
Sacrifice a creature at the Etheria entrance altar to release its element Essence. A caught creature is consumed; an NFT is not destroyed - it resets to base level (keeping mutations and gear), so it is a renewable Essence source. The more leveled the creature, the more Essence you get.
Ether Shards & the Forge
Ether Shards are the soulbound currency of the Lands of Etheria endgame zone, farmed while a Soltokemon NFT channels energy at the glade altar. Every forge, gem and enchant is paid in Shards (plus Essence + drop materials). Upgrade materials drop from wild wins, tiered by zone.
FAQ
How does equipment work in Soltokemons?+
You sacrifice a creature for its element Essence, forge a frame and gems from Essence + Ether Shards at the Ether Forge, socket the gems into the frame, optionally enchant it +1 to +10, then equip it on a creature. Gear only affects PvE (wild + trainer fights), not duels or the arena.
What are gems and frames?+
Frames are the 4 universal equipment slots (Armor, Necklace, Bracelet, Earring) - containers with 1-3 sockets. Gems are 8 element-typed stones, each giving one fixed stat; you socket gems into a frame's sockets to grant those stats. Any gem fits any frame on any creature.
How do upgrades (enchanting) work?+
Enchanting pushes a piece from +0 up to +10, multiplying its stats. Each attempt costs a tier material + Ether Shards and can succeed, downgrade, or - past +3 - DESTROY the frame and its gems. Below +4 a failed attempt is safe (no loss). A Ward Charm turns a destroy into a harmless -1.
How do I get Essence?+
Sacrifice a creature at the Etheria entrance altar. A caught creature is consumed; an NFT is not destroyed - it just resets to base level (keeping its mutations and gear), so it is a renewable Essence source. Yield scales with the level you sacrifice from.
Does equipment make the game pay-to-win?+
No. The whole loop is free and earned by playing (sacrifice, wild drops, the Forge), and gear is disabled in PvP (duels and the arena) so it only helps in PvE. The optional $STKM/NFT layer is separate.
